When you took apart the keyboard, did you check for damage to the
traces?  One trace can cause strange things to happen.  Also, just
because the connectors look good, that doesn't mean they are.  The
wires inside could be dammaged.  My mouse, for example, looks ok but
plug it in and the gs goes crazy generating false input, the mouse
pointer jumps everywhere, and it can even reboot!
