Electrically, they should be the same. They're a way of
transferring data from point A to point B. What the data actually is
is the problem. Some data is nice and generic, so anyone can deal with
it. Some data may require special drivers on the computer to interpret
correctly, some keyboards may need some data sent to them to start
working properly.

Probably a software issue. Roughly a week ago, I added some
information to the comp.sys.apple2 FAQ detailing which ADB keyboards
have been tested and do work, and which ones don't. Your 'MacALLY' is
not listed in either category. Can I get full make/model information
on it so that I can put it in the 'avoid' list? For Apple II Questions
