Try this: turn on the computer, go do something else for an hour or so,
come back, flip the switch off, wait 10 seconds, and flick back on.
My computer does this as well, after having been off for several hours.
What this does is heat up all the components, so all connections swell
and make better contact.
My computer is rarely turned off, so I rarely have to engage in this
activity.
