Betcha the mouse port is switched out of slot 4. As has been discussed here
lately, native software can use the mouse even if it's switched out on a ROM 3.
I have two ROM 3s and the mouse works in 8 bit software.

Dunno, never tried that myself

Lessee, some crappily written old software won't run, you can't set the
RAM disk size to the largest selectable amount shown but you can set it to 32K
less, and you can't have a RAM disk at all with an 8 mb memory card installed
without running system 6.0.1. That's about all I know of. You pick up lots of
new capabilities, like not having to give up slot 7 for appletalk, being
able to put a VOC in any slot, and lots more.
