   Nope. GM and Ford are rather different companies which compete.  GM
produces many separate product lines (Dodge, Saturn, etc) with some
degrees of separation between them. 

   The Apple II is an almost completely different design than the
Macintosh line, about as different from those as IBM PCs and Amigas
are. Sure, computers share common components (cases, HDs, monitors)
to one level or another, but they can be rather different.

   A far better analogy related to asking about Macintoshes in the
Apple II newsgroup is like going to a Dog show and asking about what
to feed goldfish. Sure, you might find someone with both a dog and a
goldfish at home, but you're in the wrong place. Ask at the local
aquarium, or rent _Jaws_.:)
