There are many differences, but they are mostly internal to documented
routines. All major entry points documented by Apple were retained in
the enhanced IIe ROMs.
The most likely explanation is that the program is using an undocumented
entry point which works in the original IIe ROM (and in the II+) but not
in the enhanced IIe (and probably not in the IIc or IIgs either).
