Someone could re-code the ROM so that the nice touches would work.

The problem with mouse/slot4 in a ROM 1 is that the 16 bit firmware in
the ROM1 relies on the 8 bit firmware in slot 4 to read the mouse.

It should be possible to add full Rom3 functionality (except for the
in-ROM tools) to a Rom1 with a new ROM.
