more .sit help wanted

I'm back again with another unstuffing question. Sorry!

Okay, I downloaded a font encoded with binhex, and used un-encoded it,
which gave me a file with a .sit suffix. I put this on a HFS disk, put it
on a mac, but the unstuffit program doesn't show it as a stuffit file. Am
I missing something here?
