The Apple IIgs came with what is called an ADB (Apple Desktop Bus) keyboard. It was the first computer to use it, and that method has been used on all Macs that came out after the IIgs (Mac SE and later). The Apple IIgs keyboard can be used on any Mac from the SE and later, and any SE or later keyboard can be used on the IIgs.
