I have an IOmega ZIP attached to my GS by way of a RAMFast.
I've been able to format a ZIP disk with three ProDOS partitions.
I also have a 40 meg HD on the SCSI chain with two partitions on it
from which I boot.
I have some trouble using this setup: if I boot with the ZIP
disk in the drive, or if I pop a disk in while in the finder, a
dialog comes up saying the disk is unreadable and asking to
eject/initialize it.
The only way I've found to use the IOmega disk is as follows:
1. Boot the computer with no disk in the ZIP drive
2. Launch the RAMFast utilities
3. Insert disk in ZIP drive
4. Select "Scsi Utils" from the menu
5. Select the IOmega ZIP from the device list
At this point a list of the partitions appears, all of them set
as inactive. I set them active and quit the utilities. When the
Finder comes up again, the partitions mount on the desktop and
work perfectly from both GS/OS and ProDOS.
Of course, this process is quite annoying. Is there something
I could do to let the finder mount the zip disk automatically?
Thank you Paolo Micossi
