   Go read the Apple Filetype notes on ftp.apple.com, dts/aii/ftn for
a full description. The only one that's really significant is bit 15
($8000). When on, the PIF is disabled. When off, it's enabled. None of
the rest of the bits are really significant, and should be set to 0.

   Don't bother changing filetypes. Things in the FinderExtras folder
are loaded when the Finder starts, and unloaded when it exits. If you
enter the finder a lot, you're likely to slow down your system a
bit. Things in System.Setup stay loaded the whole time-- a slightly
slower boot, but faster later operation.
