Archive of comp.sys.apple2.*

I am beginning to build a searchable database of all comp.sys.apple2.*
hierarchy posts.  Currently, all articles are being slurped down to a
local machine here. I hope to have a sample search engine available on
the web within a week or two.

The difference between this and DejaNews or AltaVista? This will
*permanently* archive all Apple II newsgroups, so that anyone can come
to the site (even 10 years from now) and access the collected wisdom of
the die-hard Apple II users.

I am also in the design stages of a high-tech Apple II file archive. It
will allow users to come in and locate files via a web site. This site
will be fairly high maintenance, as I intend for there to be detailed
descriptions of files so that users can do keyword searches. Thus, I
will need some volunteers to help sort through all the files in Appledom
and either extract or write descriptions for files.  I won't kid anyone,
this will be a lot of work - but hopefully it can be spread out enough
not to drive anyone insane ;)
