There are two keys (S and D?) that dig holes/fill up holes.  What you 
need to do is stop (space bar?) with both feet flat.  Dig a hole.  When 
the monster falls in, you have a set time in which to fill the hole/smash 
the monster though.  Some monsters must fall though two or more  holes 
'on top ' of each other to die :
