Re: Getting a IIe online
Tom left this scat:
TZ<| I'm not sure what your point is. I wouldn't want to use PT3.1 on
| a regular basis on any Apple that had less than 256K of RAM.
My point was, you said "PT3 wants a lot of memory", which is true --
interpreting the "PT3" as ProTerm 3.0, which doesn't let you assign how
much memory to use. The only problems I've seen in using ProTerm 3.x in
less than 256k are that it does disk-reads whenever you do anything, and
the fact that in 128k the editor memory and xfer buffer are the same
space thus one has to be purged to make use of the other. Bugs me...
PT3x uses a certain amount for caching, editor (45k), and so forth, and
the rest no matter how much goes to the scrollback -- something I wish
could be changed (the ability to set how big the editor and scrollback
are would be nice, who needs three megs of scrollback with an editor not
large enough to handle big texts?). I do see your point about <256k.

Suggestions where to find Modem MGR?
