Yes.. it seems a good number of AA units had exhibited strange behavior.

I have three here, only one is perfect. I picked it up at KFest. One has
reversed channels on the back, and has +5V running all over thing. That is
why there is grease in the pots. The other one shorts out if you plug both
channels in the back, (again, the line out).
