Hey, cool.  I didn't even know the Mac did that.  Thanks!

The IIgs Finder is using the standard definition of the zoom box, which is
"make the window as big as possible" toggling with "make the window the
size that the user last resized it to".

Changing this would be rather tricky.  The manual is a bit buried at the
moment, but I doubt the IIgs Finder provides a way for Finder extensions
to hook into the zoom box click.
