Re: Backing up to Fujitsu MO [GS/OS]
I once had a Fujitsu DynaMO drive that I used to backup files from my IIGS with
RamFAST. Yes, the RamFAST will handle magneto optical drives with newer
ROMs. However, it doesn't necessarily handle them that WELL. Like if you
try to write to a write protected MO disk, your IIGS will crash. This
caused me hours of agony wondering why my GS kept crashing in standard
file when navigating write protected MO's with Kangaroo installed -- it
was trying to write its Kangaroo.Data files and the RamFast was crashing.
Eek!
Secondly, the DynaMO drive is really downright crappy IMO. Very slow, and
mine kept eating cartridges right when it went out of warranty. Stay away
from it, I would advise. I know I will personally never buy another
Fujitsu product.
