Over the weekend I came into possession of a mint looking Amiga 1080
monitor. Since the Apple RGB monitor I use with my IIgs has seen
better days I thought I might use the 1080 with it. From what I've
read this should be possible since they're both analogue RGB
monitors. However when I went to go hook it up I discovered that that
Apple monitor cable is not compatible with the 1080. The 1080 has a
regular looking RGB port while the Apple has a much wider port. Where
can I get a cable that will allow me to hook up the 1080 to the
IIgs?

Is the 1080 a better monitor to use or should I look into getting
another Apple RGB monitor? The 1080 looks like it has a slightly
bigger screen which is already a big plus in my book.

ISTM that the Apple II GS uses a "green sync" monitor. A "normal" RGB monitor has a separate sync input. You will have to separate the green and the sync signals from the IIGS.

I don't usually do this, but I have to correct you. The IIgs has a separate sync on pin 3. Google for "Apple IIgs monitor pinout" and you'll find lots of info on it. Bill
