Hmmm. With all this talk of people modifying the IIgs case or putting
their IIgs's in peecee cases going on, I thought I would post my ideas...
Why not a new case altogether? Something designed for the Apple IIgs from
the gound up. Give it a Buggie power supply, and maybe some custom drive
bays for mounting common Apple II drives. Or better yet, make standard
drive bays and custom brackets. Add a nice big fan and a filter, and give
it feet so you can use it as a tower or a desktop.
Put a bunch of lights, for your accellerator, hard disk, etc on the front,
along with a power and (is this possible?) a reset switch.
Maybe make it black or something, just for the hell of it. And put the
Apple II Forever logo on the front. I could go on, but you get the idea.
Does anyone have the resources to make this a reality? Personally, I would
love to move my IIgs out of its case, but I won't because of the asthetics
of the thing. I really have no desire to make my little IIgs into a great
big PC-thing.
