Distribution of Apple II, IIGS system software & HCGS

I've noticed a lot of people are asking where to get the system software
for the Apple II and IIGS, including the Hypercard IIGS program disks.
I've also noticed many people seem to be having problems with the
download, because of the archive type and many other reasons - from the
apple.com - WWW and/or ftp site for all of them.

I've already arranged to obtained all of the required licenses from
Apple Computer, Inc. - for all of the official released Apple II and
IIGS system software (including Hypercard IIGS), that will legally allow
me to make them all available from the 1WSW web site and/or GS WorldView
web site. I plan to make them all available there for your download
needs - freely, within the next week or two, as best my time allows!

Apple Computer, Inc. has also given me premission to select the archived
format for these - when I make them available. I'd appreciate it if
those interested in making suggestions on which archive file format,
they would like to see used - woulrd reply.

I personally think the Shrinkit (.sea) self-extracting archive format
would be best for all of the IIGS system and Hypercard IIGS disks.

The Apple II system software is another issue and I hope to see some
feedback with valid, polite and useful suggestions - concerning these.

Before anybody jumps the gun and decides to reply with any comments -
that I have no legal rights to do this, think about it first - please!
I wouldn't post this if that were the case. Facts are facts - and that's
that! So, here are the facts.

I can't hunt bugs and make patches to fix them - as others have the
skill, desire and talent to do. But, I can help with legal distribution
and in making the Apple II and IIGS system software available - in an
archived format that proves to be the best for all. So, that's what I'm
doing.

Any WWW or ftp site can elect to do this if they obtain all of the
required licenses from Apple Computer, Inc. BTW - the license fees to
distribute all Apple II software have now been waived. So, there is no
cost involved! To varify this - you can call: 1-512-919-2645 and
respond - as instructed.

I look forward to your polite and constructive replies with valid and
useful archive file format suggestions.

Cheers, Peace & God Bless!
