Wow!  I remember seeing one of them on the shelf in the shop when I bought
my IIgs.

If it is a 9 pin female connector, then it is probably the same pinout as
the original Mac 128 and 512.

Highly unlikely.  I expect it provides a similar set of functions to the
IIe workstation card: allowing a PC to access a networked printer, and
possibly allowing logon to an AppleShare server.

I read some information about the card and its software, quite a long time
ago, and the impression I got was that the AppleTalk protocols were buried
very deeply, and it would be next to impossible to do anything "unusual"
with it.
