This part of the description matches what I'd seen in the Apple 2
format, so likely the rest of the details are the same:

**Each file starts with four tables of 59 bytes, each byte
corresponding to an ASCII character from 32 to 91--from space to Z.
The @ is not used and has no values in the tables. The first table
contains the width of each character in columns because Print Shop
fonts are proportional, unlike fixed 8x8 fonts. The second table
contains the height in rows, and the last two tables contain the
address in RAM where each character's shape starts as it is loaded**

I got distracted with shape table fonts last weekend, but I expect to
have another play this weekend. BTW my interest here is adding some
filters to peekbot that convert old A2 fonts to BDF format (which can
then be imported into a Mac or Windows font) similar to what I've
already done for C64 GEOS fonts - http://www.jamtronix.com/blog/2010/05/09/geos-font-support-for-peekbot/
