Re: Killfile for Dr. Tom's email

Nathan Mates enlightened us with:
: "Dr." Tom has the annoying tendency of emailing and posting any public
: responses to my comments both to me and to comp.sys.apple2. I see it
: _just_ fine on comp.sys.apple2, and since he does not forward 100% of
: his posts, his email forwarding must be something done manually. I
: and others have warned him several times publically NOT to do so, but
: he appears incapable of listening. As I threatened in the warnings, I
: am posting how to kill off his email automatically.

I, for one, have appreciated Dr. Tom's responses in both e-mail and in
the news group. Here is how I see it:

I have a question relating to Apple II's, so I post it.

Dr. Tom, and others, have information for me, they are willing to HELP
me for FREE.

Some folks, Dr. Tom included, make the CORRECT assumption that other
folks may be wondering the same thing AND that I do not read every
message in the news group. So they do the correct thing, post to the
news group AND e-mail me. Sometimes, I must suffer through his FREE
help twice. What a pity.

Lighten up! I realize that many folkks hate Dr. Tom. Perhaps they
have reason. I happen to not be one of those folks. I am really sick
of hearing the complaining about him. But if you MUST make your
complaints public, please make complaints that MEAN something.

As a side note, though, thanks for the Unix tip. I really do
appreciate the knowledge, even if it was given in an inappropriate
way.

For the most part you both are very valuable resources for the apple
II community. I respect you both. I just tire of the bickering.
