The Rana floppy disk drives do not need a special controller card. The Elite 1 was a single sided 40 track floppy, Elite 2 was double sided 40 tracks, & Elite 3 double density 80 track double sided. They would all run off a standard dos 3.3 controller card. They came with a patch program to patch Dos and Prodos. I have the schematics, and the way they switched heads was to toggle 2 phases of the head stepper motor at the same time.
