System Saver GS & bad plastic
For the past few months, my GS's System Saver has been rattling around
a little, and I though it wasn't too much of a big problem. Well,
last night, it turned into one. The 'master' switch disappeared into
the case when pressed, and never came back out. After disassembling it
(note: 6 screws hitten under foam padding, 3 per side. Press down with
screwdriver to find), the plastic stakes holding that switch were
found to have fallen apart.
Superglue fixed it, but if any of you have rattling SSGS's, I'd
advise checking the plastic before it really breaks like mine just
did. [It was a relatively new SSGS also-- bought new, Spring 93]
I'll be putting my GS into a PC desktop case within a few months,
and I won't need a SSGS anymore.
