Well, I brought my toasted IBM OEM DPES-31080 SCSI-2 hard drive back to
the original vendor who has offered to replace the drive with a same-size
HD from another manufacturer. I have two options that I want to explore
here (please help me out):
(1) Exactly which hard drive in the 800mb - 1.08gb size does work with
the RamFAST Rev D v3.01f SCSI card? I want to be absolutley
certain that I have them order the correct replacement drive.
(2) For six dollars more that I paid for the 1.08gb SCSI-2 drive, I can
buy a brand new 2.0gb IDE drive for my GS. :) What is the
maximum drive size that the Turbo IDE drive can handle and how do I
ensure that the new IDE drive will be compatible with the Turbo IDE?
Should I stick with the SCSI drive or go with IDE now?
Thank you all in advance for your suggestions, technical or otherwise.
