RE:AppleWorks 5.0 Requirements
Officially, AppleWorks 5 required at least an enhanced IIe with 256k memory
and 3.5" drive. If you don't have a 3.5" drive but have a hard drive, you
can request the program on 5.25" disks for hard drive install.
Going "down" -- I discovered you can run AppleWorks 5 run on a 256k IIe with
only one 5.25" drive, but the disk swapping is intolerable. However, it's
tolerable, but not nice, with two 5.25" drives. You can set it up with a
boot disk, and separate disks for each of the modules (WP, DB, SS).
A practical working system: At least 512k and a 3.5" drive and another
drive (3.5 or 5.25) for data storage.
