The health concerns with monitor use relate to stuff like X-ray
emissions and electro-magnetic fields within a few feet of the screen.
Some of the newer monitors are supposed to supress these hazards. If the
VGA monitor has a bigger screen, then the beam accelerator voltages may be
higher and it may be a bit less safe than your GS monitor.

Interference with a TV in another room is from Radio Frequency
signals coming from the computer, the monitor, and peripherals like
keyboards and mice. That the VGA system produces more interference on a TV
tuned to certain stations does not necessarily mean it is 'leaking' more
RF than the GS. The GS may be leaking RF, too; but, it is on frequencies
which do not happen to mess up the TV. For example, our GS causes more
interference with AM radio reception than our PC does.
