Termination resistors are recommended for phonenet and possibly
appletalk cabling. All of the phonenet boxes I've bought came with
a resistor terminator, so terminating it is trivial. The cabling
for Appletalk does not need to be in a straight daisychain; I've
seen sorta 'star' formations with central junctions connected out
to 10 machines, terminated at each end.

Appletalk is real nice for connections. You can reverse the two
wires at any point, and it still works. On the RJ11 connector, I know
that Appletalk uses the outer two pins. I _think_ it's the same on the
Appletalk connector, but you can try things around without damaging
them.
