That's odd - I use glossaries in the AppleWorks 5.1 all the time, both
for filling in a field from an abbreviation and as a popup list with
Apple-G.

Make sure you are on the correct field when you press Apple-G.  Also
check the Apple-O screen to see if the fields are defined correctly,
and make sure the glossary is on the desktop.

If you do something like insert a new category, AppleWorks doesn't
move some of the formatting options, so you have to manually correct
things using the Apple-O screen.
