No, it's impossible.
The GS is running at 14Mhz if you're very optimistic, and PC systems are
clocked at a multiple of that. of course, early PCs only had 4 or 8 Mhz, but
you'd only be able to run really old software.
BTW, the 86x CPUs and memory structure are pretty complex - quite an overkill
for a 3-register 65816.
I don't think you'd be able to run MS-DOS software at significantly more than 1
Mhz.
Take a look at AE's PC card. It's even difficult to emulate a PC in hardware.
