The Apple ][ disk controller was designed by Steve Wozniak, using
a really neat piece of circuitry to generate a GCR format but is
incompatible with anything else around.  You not only have to
xfer the data, but may also have to convert whatever word processor
format the files are in.

Since you have a one-time problem, a limited number of disks,
and perhaps an urgent need, your best bet is to try the
commercial convertor outfits.  Grey Matter used to charge
about a tenner a disk.  Others you might try in UK are Vogon
Enterprises (Wokingham), PDSL (Crowborough) (01892 667473).
I know the proprietors of both those, they're fair, helpful,
and long established.  I believe Grey Matter is too, but
I only know them thru adverts.
