Re: Upcoming project: virtual hard drive for //c and IIgs

I just done the pentium version, I need to test it with more recent hardware (PII, PIII, P4) wich I had.
The 486 version seem to be fragile for now, it need a review.
I think it should work on a 486sx25, I dunno for a 386 wich is somewhat two time slower than a 486 at the same frequency. Nevertheless, if the parallel port latency is low, it should work with a 386sx40.
I don't think it will run stable on your 386sx20, but who know :)

Seeing my old //c lying together with an old PC on the same desk, I

This is how the project began.
I made a specific cable to connect the smartport of the //c to the //
port of the PC, and started to write the software to emulate an hard
drive for the //c.
All seem to work fine now: from the //c I can format, read, write, and
even boot from the emulated 32 mega bytes hard drive (under prodos).
So it's time to do this announce, I think this project will be of
interest for some of you, right ?

Yes! is there any news? and I have a 386sx 20 laptop do you think that
would be enough to keep up?
