Hmmm.  This thread is getting pretty heavy for what sounds like
a request for advice!  ;-)

Consider, if you will, that a text editor is practically an accessory
for your spinal column, if you use it a lot (and you seem to).

Most people will get *very* cranky if they change text editors, since
everthing they know is wrong for a couple of weeks.

AW is about as intuitive as they come for typing and backspacing, and
for things like margins and headers/footers, about as *unintuitive* as
most!  Getting these down requires a half hour spent reading the manual
or a couple of hours of possibly frustrating experimentation.

Try one of the above strategies *until it works* before flaming *any*
word processor.  And stay cool...   ;-)
