Re: Q: Can you read IBM DOS 3.5" disks on a ][?

If the needed hardware is installed, an Apple //e o IIgs can deal with
-any- of the MS-DOS compatable type floppies (5.25" thru 3.5", and
including 2.88Mb as well as the wierd format Microsoft uses for the
Windows 95 disks)

The hardware is known as the BlueDisk controller, available from
Joachim Lange of SHH Systeme, Germany.

This inteface board provides a SmartPort OS interface (so works with
both ProDOS-8 and GS/OS (even has a native driver for GS/OS)) and permits
direct connection of one or two standard MS-DOS type disk drives, of
any capacity commonly used. [Note: It is possible to set up a ProDOS-8
or GS/OS boot disk on this setup]

The board is well designed and built, and the firmware and driver work
well (and are constantlly being improved too :)

I am slightly biased in my opinion... While I do not make any form of
profit from this product, I was one of two alpha and beta testers for
this board in the US, and continue to beta new firmware and driver code.
