keyboard, try _carefully_ removing the keycap and spraying some WD-40 (or
equivalent) into the keyswitch and working the plunger several time to see if
that will dislodge any gunk that is there.  Also use the meter to check for a
bad trace lead (also easy to repair).
 
   If you do decide to dump the board, most any Mac keyboard works.  I happen
to like the one that came with the SE series machines or Apple Extended (not
the Designer).  Tactile feedback, real switches, and a solid feel are important
to me.
