I think he is describing the fact that his Syquest is internally terminated
and when he moves it to a different system, the first system is no longer terminated
if the Syquest is not connected. I have run the GS without a terminator at the
end of the SCSI chain but I would not recommend it. You should be able to get
a pass thru terminator that you could plug into the end of the cable when you
remove the Syquest. Also make sure all power is off of all devices on the SCSI
chain before connecting or disconnecting devices. I just went thru several days
of trouble shooting and file repairing after changing the SCSI setup while my
ZIP drive was plugged in (no on/off switch). This blew the terminator power
fuses in two SCSI drives causing all sorts of problems until I realized what
had happened.
