I use this feature in my //e. I have a UDC card with a 3.5" and a 5.25" drive
in slot 5 and a SCSI card in slot 4. If the UDC finds no disk in the 3.5 it
returns to the slot scan and finds the SCSI disk in slot 4.
My other //e has a DuoDisk and controller in slot 6 and will hang if no disk
is in the drive. I did not want to put the SCSI card in slot 7 as it would be
unusable for Pascal 1.3 so I modified the monitor ROM in this //e so that it
scans from slot 1 to 7 instead of the standard 7 down to 1. This is not quite
as convienient as the first //e - if I want to boot from a floppy I either have
to wait for the HD to boot or press reset quickly after power up.
