Ethernet for the IIgs...

At work we use EtherWave adapters on the macs.  Most connect to the AAUI
port, or to an Ethertalk card.  However, someone brought in a Color
Classic 9a nice little machine, methinks)  and had a Etherwave that
attached to the printer port.  

According to the manuals, the adapter will work on any mac that dosen't
have, or can't have a card installed.  Supposedly ideal for powerbooks and
classic macs.

The operative idea is that it connects via the SERIAL port.  Just like
Phonenet/Localtalk.  

I'm going to try and borrow one, and an AAUI pod for my quadra, and see if
I can get the IIgs to see the mac.    Think about it, though- its a little
faster that localtalk, even thru the serial port.  Its easy to use the
Etherwaves, because even 10base-T dosen't need a hub.  It might also be a
great way to get TCP/IP into a GS.

If anyone has any ideas on this, please let me know.  I'll keep you all
informed as to the way the test goes.

PS. The only drawback is that its rather expensive, around $200 for each
adapter.
