Mac Easy Open Problem w/Prodos disks

Help, please!  I am using Mac Sys 7.5 and the Mac Easy Open option for
formatting a Prodos disk for Apple // usage.  Half the time it formats the
disk as PC instead of Prodos, but my REAL problem is that it will not copy
apple 2 files onto the newly formatted 800k Prodos disk that I have
downloaded on the mac.  I finally managed to copy some of the files
individually onto the disk, but there are some that it still will not copy,
despite there being ample room on the disk.  It says that the disk has a
bad "signature" or that the directory is full (it is not, there is almost
300-400 K left on the disk).  What does this mean that the disk has a "bad
signature"?  I want to be able to download apple 2 stuff from ftp onto my
mac and then copy it over to a Prodos 800k disk for use on my Apple //
systems.
