+1. The French version is named "manuel de l'utilisateur Apple II" -
There are two versions of it (for the II and an update for the //e) -
I still read it with great pleasure.

Then, based on people's preferences and skills, some books will be
preferred. I like the Apple IIgs toolbox reference volumes (what a
surprize :-) I'm prety sure HW gurus will say "understanding the Apple
IIx"
