     We used a SpeeDemon for years on our II+. (Recently, it bombed-- too
bad, because I'll have to fix it or face playing Elite at normal speed.) 
SD is a fine accelerator; BUT, it does require cooling. We cut a hole in
the back and mounted a muffin fan just to blow air across the SD board.
