useful, it would have to be embraced by the community -- otherwise, it fails.

I think Bill's intentions are good ones. He thoughtfully asked if I wanted to
help out. I didn't see any harm in that, so I agreed to try it out.

Publishing news on A2Central is both fun and a pain in the ass. I collect news
from several sources (CSA2 among them) and post the stuff that appears to be of
interest to the community. Some news items do not originate on CSA2, they come
from sites and people who have zero awareness of the CSA2 community (or don't
care about usenet). I really love those site operators or programmers who send
me a prepared press release of their announcement -- especially if it requires
minimal editing.

Anyway, as I close this (rant?) message... it's plain to me that csa2.announce
was just intended to be a neutral, non-hostile place to announce info.
Occasionally, someone gets their shorts in a twist over something but to our
community's credit, we've reached a generally amicable state and get along
well.
