installer for a software

Hi, everybody:
I am porting a software to mac and wondering if there is an intaller available
like the installation procedure you can write for Windows, either commercial
or shareware.  I believe there is one since I saw it when I install some
software on Mac but I just don't know where to get them.  My other alternative
is to compress the stuff together and let the user to expand them during
the installation.  However, I don't know where to find the compress either.
