I remember an ad for the IIc which showed someone dropping a IIe, a
monitor, and I think a disk drive into a suitcase which was sitting on a
bed, and then pulling out a IIc.  I don't remember if it had an LCD
display on it or not...but the point was that the IIc had all of these
features of the IIe built-in.

I remember the ad running fairly frequently during prime-time for a while.
