unknown card/ram/gsmodem?

Hi,
I'm trying to get this iigs I picked up in working condition and have some
questions for the ii gurus out there. First of all, I have the "APL B" printer card which
I asked about a couple weeks ago. Thanks for the "PR#n" suggestion someone
gave me, which worked, but I still can't get it to work with appleworks. Is there some
special parameter I have to set? something I'm doing wrong. I read the article about
"poke ###" but couldn't get anywherewith it. I have only 1 drive controller card in
slot 6 (by the way, how do you change to your second drive from the " ] " prompt. Is
there any electronic documents out there I could download on llgs basics?)
I also have the "apple iigs memory expansion" card with only the 256k
soldered in chips. What chips go in the rest of the sockets. Could I pull the ram out
of an old ii+? Does anyone know the name of the chip I could use?
I also found some weird looking card in an old apple ii+; its about 9" long,
has no writing on it besides chip labels, its distinguishing characteristics are two rca
cables coming out of it, 1 male soldered on the back of the card, 1 female plugged
into a 2pin thingee on the front of the card. Anyone know the name of the beast?
And finally, I can't find a serial card anywhere to hook up a modem. I was
wondering if I could make or find an adapter to plug into adb modem port on the back
of the llgs to plug into a regular db25 modem interface? or do you have to have a
modem designed for that port.
That's all for now. Thanks for the help (if you can). msentlin@awinc.com
