Single sided drives and Mirage mice...
...so anyways, I have a Mac+ which I'm trying to get up and
running (but that's another story from another day) Turns out the
external floppy that came with it appears to be a single sided drive.
It wants to format any double sided disks I stick in it and formatted
disks have a whopping ~400k! ...which is actually quite big for me
considering I'm using my //e with 140k 5.25 drives... =^)
Looks like I'll probably be in the market for an external
drive for my Mac+ (in addition to a HD) and I was wondering, will
this drive that I have work with my //e? With the proper interface
card of course...what card will I be looking for? Can anyone tell
me any useful info about the drive, the only identification appearing
anywhere on it (aside from the Apple logo on the front) is "Model
Number: M0130" on the label underneath.
Floating through a local computer store (one of the few left
not yet overrun by the Computer City juggernaut) on the clearance
table is CH Product's Mirage Joystick->Mouse Adaptor. Since the
//e uses the same mouse, I was wondering if the Mirage will work
with the Mac+. I do have a mouse (which was generously given to me
for postage, thanks Peter!) but one of the rollers (that diagonally
oriented one) seems gunked up if not just corroded looking (now I
know why I got it free =^) and is a bit tempermental at times.
I was pondering the Mirage in case I accidentally destroy the mouse
when I open it up (any special tricks I should know?) to clean.
