For the first, possibly the best word processor written for the ][e...in
fact, possibly the second most powerful word processor ever written for
any platform (hey...even Paul Lutus can't compete with WordPerfect for
sheer horsepower...), is Apple Writer ][e.

Like all Apple ][ programs worth using, it loads pretty quick; it all fits
on one 5.25" disk, it's happy with only 64k of memory (but can handle the
standard 128k configuration just fine), it is text based and uses standard
text files for file I/O, and it can do just about anything you've ever
considered doing with a word processor and then some.  You can even
program it with a fairly powerful built-in scripting language, WPL.

The best part of all this is that it is FREE and available from all of the
better Apple ][ FTP sites.  Try ground.isca.uiowa.edu for starters.

As for WYSIWYG mouse-based word processing on the ][e...hmmm...out of my
league, but you might want to see if you can find a copy of GEOS for the
128k ][e, once available from Berkeley Softworks.  Never used it myself. 
For WYSIWYG word processing, I use GraphicWriter III on my IIgs.  Won't
help with your ][e, though.
