CD-ROM problems...

	Here's the story. I have two CD-ROM drives. They're both 2x and
NEC mechanisms. The only difference is that one is twice as big and
requires a caddy. Logically, I decided to use the one that doesn't
require a caddy because (a) caddy's irritate me and (b) it's smaller, so
it takes less desk space.
However a problem has arisen with this drive. When playing audio
CD's the drive loses power (ie it acts like the power was switched off).
If I turn the power switch off then on again, it works...for
awhile...then does the same thing. I haven't tested it with any CD-ROMS,
so I don't know if it does it when accessing them as well. I just now
that it'll play an audio cd for awhile then stop. The button on the
front panel won't eject the cd and the thing acts like the power to it
was cut off. The second cd rom drive works great on the same
connections, so I don't know what the problem could be.
Are there any CD-ROM/hardware experts out there? Is the power
supply in the cd-rom drive bad or something? Does anyone know where I
could fix this drive (I got it used). It worked great for a few weeks,
but now it's nothing but a pain. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated,
thanks.
