- Summary: C64/6502 Multithreading OS announce.
This is the announcement for OS/A65 version 1.3.5e
OS/A65 is a multitasking/multithreading Operating system for 6502
computers. It runs on systems with (74ls610) MMU and on systems
without. Most notably and new in this version the good 'ol C64!
Some of it's features are:
- preemptive multitasking (as far as tasks behave well and don't do SEI)
- microkernel design - hardware dependence (nearly) completely in device
drivers
- comes with filesystem drivers for CBM parallel and serial IEC bus
(although the C64 serial bus is not tested, as I have no C64 around
at the moment)
- filesystem for IBM-PC style diskettes (several formats, 12 bit FAT)
- shell with pipes and I/O redirection.

Well, there still are glitches, but the system itself is stable.
I will not do any development any more, as my interests have moved,
but I will gladly receive patches, fixes, ideas,...
